Condemn Glišić's morbid statements: Don't enroll your children in blockaded faculties, they'll send them back in a coffin like the girl from Šabac

Serbian Minister of Public Investments Darko Glišić harshly attacked the University of Belgrade, telling parents not to enroll their children in "blockade faculties" because they will return them in a coffin, just as they returned the girl from Šabac, who tragically died at the Faculty of Philosophy on March 26.

His statement provoked negative reactions.

Glišić, while appearing on the regime's Pink television, spoke about the death of a girl whose body was found last week on a plateau in front of the Faculty of Philosophy in downtown Belgrade, and the exact circumstances are still being determined.

"Now imagine the parents watching this. Should they enroll their child at Belgrade University or a faculty where the dean is some blockader? To have their child recruited into their infantry, to send them to fight in cities across Serbia. To store pyrotechnic material, to store narcotics. To draw them into their blockader sect. And to lose their heads," said Glišić.

Glisic continued, noting that he was "very aware of the weight of the words he would say."

"But I have to tell the public. Don't enroll your children in blockade faculties, because they will return them to you like they returned this girl from Šabac, in a coffin. Don't enroll your children there where you see that the dean is still a blockader. You don't enroll your children there to learn something. And children don't go there for knowledge. You send your children there to be their infantry, their army," said Glišić.

Stefanović on Glišić's statement: Morbid, dirty, the most horrible statement in Serbian politics

Deputy President of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP) Borko Stefanović pointed out today that "what the old radical Darko Glišić said, besides being disgusting, morbid and radically dirty and sad, is the most horrible statement to date in Serbian politics."

Stefanović said in a written statement: "You, the radicals, who brought back children in coffins from various battlefields in which Serbia did not participate, you who even then abolished the autonomy of universities and who stifled the media, including the Minister of Information Aleksandar Vučić, you threaten the citizens of Serbia."

"You threaten the citizens of Serbia with knowledge, education. You threaten them with the future that their children should have. You are smearing the spirit of Dositej Obradović with batons, pepper spray, and police phalanxes," Stefanović said.

He added that "(Parliament Speaker) Ana Brnabić is also daring to call on Europe to react against, as she says, blockade violence."

"Shame on you. You who last night turned the police forces, batons and tear gas against students, against citizens, and put the rector's office under wire and locked people inside, including the rector, are now calling out to Europe in the worst Goebbelsian way. Everything you do is a shame, but since I know you don't know shame, then at least know that you should ask yourself where you are going. Since justice and the laws are coming for you," Stefanović said.

SSP Ćuprija demands that Glišić be stripped of his honorary citizen title

The municipal board of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP) in Ćuprija requested that Glišić be stripped of his title of honorary citizen of that municipality, due to his statement.

The president of the Čuprija SSP committee, Slobodan Milašinović, said in a statement that "a more disgusting and morbid statement has not recently been recorded in Serbian politics."

"Such a statement represents unacceptable speech that spreads fear, incites tensions and grossly insults the dignity of citizens, especially young people, and we are deeply convinced that the majority of citizens of Ćuprija view this statement with disgust and contempt," Milašinović said.

The title of honorary citizen of Ćuprija, he added, is awarded to individuals who contribute to the reputation, development and values ​​of that place through their activities, which is why the SSP is asking the local authorities to immediately initiate proceedings to revoke this title from Glišić.

The Move-Change movement assessed Glišić's statement as a "scary message" and an abuse of the tragic death of a student at the Faculty of Philosophy.

The movement assessed that Glišić, as a minister in the Serbian Government and a senior official of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), "violated even the lowest standards of political discourse with his statement on the pro-regime TV Pink."

According to them, it is particularly concerning that Glišić's messages come from his position as a public official, which additionally obliges him to "have respect for all citizens who sympathize with the victim of the tragedy and her family and friends."

"After his statement, Darko Glišić became a symbol of a new department, the Ministry of Radical Forebodings, which in the past has projected the fate of Serbia through coffins," the statement said.

Kreni-promeni assessed it as tragic that an independent investigation, which "would be supported by all normal people", is being replaced by "the dirtiest political campaign".
