Donald Trump Jr., the son of US President Donald Trump, arrived in Banja Luka today amid heavy security measures.
Due to his arrival, the city center was blocked, as well as the section of the road from Mahovljani Airport to Banja Luka, which was passed by a convoy of vehicles carrying the son of the American president, reports the Beta agency.
Strong police forces have been deployed on all major city roads, police helicopters are circling the city, and snipers have been spotted on the roofs of buildings.
Trump landed at Banja Luka Airport shortly after 1:00 p.m., and numerous press crews who came to cover his arrival were not allowed to enter the airport grounds, Beta reports.
Trump was welcomed at the airport by Igor Dodik, the organizational secretary of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) and the son of the party's leader Milorad Dodik, at whose invitation, he confirmed, Donald Trump Jr. arrived in Banja Luka.
He held a panel discussion at the Banski Dvor, where he spoke about artificial intelligence and cryptocurrencies. The panel was attended by the highest officials of the RS, as well as numerous businessmen.
Along with Trump's son, Brad Parscale, who was the digital media director for Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and then the manager of Trump's 2020 presidential campaign, also arrived in Banja Luka.
Some Banja Luka media outlets have announced that the son of the US President will visit Milorad Dodik's estate in Bakinci near Laktaši after the panel discussion.
Dodik stated that the arrival of Donald Trump Jr. in Banja Luka and the visit of US Vice President J.D. Vance to Hungary signal an important turn of events for the United States administration.
"The arrival of J.D. Vance in Hungary and Donald Trump Jr. in Banja Luka is a signal of an important turn of events by the US administration under the leadership of President Donald Trump, concern for this part of Europe regarding the status of Christians and, above all, partnership with the hosts," Dodik wrote on the social network X.
He said that Vance's visit to Hungary "emphasizes the same vision of national security and the sovereignty of nation states."
"Prime Minister (Viktor) Orban deserves this gesture of confirmation of his leadership capacities and the respect he enjoys from the most important countries in the world," Dodik assessed, adding that this was the first visit by the US Vice President to Hungary in the last 35 years, for which he congratulated Orban.
