NM (28) from the Belgrade area has been arrested on suspicion of exploiting a 12-year-old girl for pornography, the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced today, calling on parents and guardians to monitor their children's online activity and to immediately report any suspicious communication to the authorities.
"The suspect, using an account on the social network 'TikTok', and then via the 'Viber' application, contacted a twelve-year-old girl, asking her to provide him with explicit photos and videos, while simultaneously forwarding her his own explicit content," the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
It is suspected that he tried to meet her "with the aim of establishing an intimate relationship", which the police prevented him from doing.
Further distribution and misuse of the explicit content he possessed was also prevented.
He is charged with the criminal offenses of displaying, obtaining and possessing pornographic material and exploiting a minor for pornography.
He has been ordered to be detained for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought before the prosecutor with a criminal complaint.
