Four bodies found in rivers in Croatia

Croatian police received two reports of sightings of a total of three dead bodies in the Kupa River and one report of sightings of a dead body in the Mrežnica River.

Acting on a citizen's report that he had spotted a dead body in the Kupa River in the municipality of Ribnik, police officers from the Ozalj Police Station conducted an on-site investigation yesterday, after members of the Croatian National Disaster and Emergency Service (HGSS) retrieved the body of an unknown male person from the river and brought it to the shore.

Officers from the Duga Resa police station, acting on a report from the Slovenian police, spotted two dead bodies of unknown males in the Kupa River in the municipality of Netretić, which they, together with firefighters from Slovenia, removed to the shore.

Officers from the same police station later received a report that a dead body had been spotted in the Mrežnica River in the municipality of Generalski Stol. After members of the Croatian National Rescue Service (HGSS) retrieved the body of an unknown male person from the shore, an investigation was conducted.

In order to determine all the circumstances of these events, further criminal investigations and autopsies are being conducted to determine the exact cause of death and the identities of all persons, N1 reports.
