The students in the blockade announced that during today's 16-minute silence in front of the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, Serbia, a man in a car with Belgrade license plates "forcibly attempted to pass through the intersection where citizens and students were at that moment."
"On that occasion, an argument broke out, a man got out of his car and hit our colleague, a law student, after which he got back in the car and hit a man of almost 90 years old, who was standing with us at the intersection," the students said in a statement on Instagram.
An ambulance took a man who was injured by a car to the Emergency Center.
According to Nedeljnik, the crowd stopped a car that tried to flee, and after about ten minutes and requests from citizens, the police detained the driver and passenger.
The weekly states that the driver and passenger were in a police vehicle near Tašmajdan Park for an hour, and that only after that did the police take them to the Palilula police station.
The car, which had its rear window broken during an attempt to drive away and was covered in "Students Win" stickers, was then taken away by a tow truck.
