The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Kumanovo announced yesterday that it is investigating a 25-year-old man from the village of Malotino for as many as four murders and two attempted murders.

Prosecutor Ljubomir Lape said that the investigation against 25-year-old TB from the village of Malotino, Staro Nagoričane Municipality, in addition to the initial two murders, revealed two more murders and two attempted murders.

He pointed out that, according to current knowledge, this is the first case in North Macedonia in which evidence points to a serial killer with elements of femicide, because, as he said, the crimes were directed at women.

"As far as I know, this is the first case in which evidence indicates that this is a serial killer who also committed the crime of femicide, or gender-based violence," Lape pointed out.

According to the prosecution, the motive for the murders was hatred of women, and he carried out the acts insidiously, out of base motives and self-interest.

Lape expressed his expectation that after its completion, in a realistically short period of time, an indictment will be filed against the suspect.

"One of the women who was attacked did not see the perpetrator, but the other saw him and recognized him," Lape said.

According to the investigation, the murders were committed on January 5, 2025 and February 12, 2026, and the attempted murders on June 21 and February 9, 2025.
