Vučić: I plan to resign in three, four months, maybe even sooner, I'm thinking about running for Prime Minister

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that he plans to resign in "three, four months, maybe even sooner."

During an appearance on Radio Belgrade, speaking about potential dates for holding early elections, he said that it "will not be a surprise to anyone" and that he was not saying "that he is shortening his term, but rather that he is resigning."

"I started packing books at the Presidency. I asked my friends who could receive 500 books, I will donate the 1.200 I received during my term to an institution, I'm still thinking about which one," Vučić said.

He also added that he thinks about his own candidacy for prime minister every day, as well as the new candidate for president of the current government.

"It will be someone more responsible, I dare say more educated, more energetic and a man who knows what the state is. He will certainly be more educated than their two candidates (rector Vladan) Đokić and (basketball player Dejan) Bodiroga," Vučić said.
