Stefan Ćorda, the lawyer for military analyst Aleksandar Radić, stated today that the Military Police illegally took over evidence obtained during the search of his apartment and that neither he nor his client were informed of this in any decision.
"We have an extremely illegal legal matter in which the Military Police today took over evidence that was obtained by the Ministry of the Interior conducting a search yesterday, at the order of the prosecution and the court. Everything that was excluded from that evidence today is illegal because neither the defendant nor his defense attorney were notified of it in writing," lawyer Ćorda told Beta agency.
He said that yesterday he was informed by the Serbian Ministry of the Interior that the evidence collected during the search of Aleksandar Radić's apartment would be analyzed today, and that he was convinced all along that the Criminal Police Directorate would do this, on the orders of the court and the prosecutor's office.
"In the meantime, I learned from the media that the Military Police were opening evidence. According to the law, the Military Police cannot be responsible for the crime they were charged with. And if there was a change in the crime and an order to include them in it, we were not informed of that in any decision," he said.
Ćorda added that something like that cannot be communicated verbally or over the phone.
"I warn the public that I tried to contact the person who made this statement by phone, although there is no verbal order in this type of procedure. I tried to find out from that person who made this decision and was told to check with the prosecutor's office, the court and the police, after which the conversation suddenly ended. That person did not answer the phone anymore," he said.
