Basketball player Uroš Plavšić arrested: Suspected of jumping over the fence of the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade and attacking a security guard

Romanian Cluj basketball player Uroš Plavšić was arrested on suspicion of jumping over the fence of the Military Medical Academy (MMA) in Belgrade on the night between July 16 and 17 and physically assaulting a military officer - a member of security.

According to Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), Plavšić, a former Red Star basketball player and bronze medalist with the Serbian national team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, was arrested yesterday on the orders of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade.

The attack took place at reception desk number 2, but a security guard managed to subdue him and call the military police.

Military police authorities handed Plavšić over to a police patrol, and a member of the MMA security guard sustained minor injuries to his head and hands in a clash with the attacker.

Plavšić was ordered to be detained for up to 48 hours on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of assault on a military personnel in the performance of military service.
