Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that it is not realistic for US President Donald Trump to visit Serbia soon because elections are being called "in a few days or a week."
"It is not realistic to have some kind of visit now. In a few days or a week, elections will be called and we will go to the polls, and in America there will be mid-term elections. Only when all this is over, then it is realistic to expect visits between our countries at the highest level," Vučić said in Belgrade, answering questions from journalists after a reception for participants of the "Serbia is Calling You 2026" camp.
On the occasion of marking the anniversary of the military-police operation Storm in Croatia, Vučić said that "there is no one who means anything in Croatian politics who did not say something ugly yesterday" about him, although he "did not say a single offensive word in Mrkonjić Grad", where he spoke on August 4 at the central manifestation of the Day of Remembrance for Serbian Victims.
"They say that Vučić mentioned the 'second half'. By that they wanted to say that I threatened someone... I said that many others are dreaming about the 'second half' and that I ask them not to do so. So, a brutal lie," Vučić said.
