Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that on Monday, when former commander of the Republika Srpska Army Ratko Mladić, convicted in The Hague for genocide and other war crimes, will be buried at the Topčider Cemetery, he will meet with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, whose visit was scheduled several months ago.
"I have an official visit from the President of Uzbekistan all day on Monday and Tuesday, scheduled four months ago," Vučić told reporters during his visit to Palić, when asked if he would attend the funeral.
He added that he had spoken to the Mladić family, and that it was their choice what to do and how to organize the funeral.
"Did I do everything necessary and possible for this to proceed in a dignified manner, in a serious and responsible manner to establish the state, I did exactly that. That's all I can tell you," Vučić said.
