A request was submitted to the official gazette of Macedonia to publish the decision on the election of Talat Džaferi as the Speaker of the Assembly, said today the representative of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), the party that gathers Albanians in Macedonia, Artan Grubi.
Grubi pointed out that he does not expect obstructions and that he hopes that the Official Gazette will respect the decision of the parliamentary majority gathered around the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM), in which his and Dzaferi's party is the DUI.
Today, Jaferi formally asked the general secretary of the parliament to enable the new presidential cabinet to work smoothly, but he was told that the request will be acted upon when the decision on the appointment is published in the Official Gazette, Grubi said.
"We asked the general secretary to enable the office of the Speaker of the Assembly, Talat Džaferi, to function. But we also have to keep in mind that an office is not an institution, but that the institution is Talat Džaferi, who was elected by the votes of representatives of the majority of citizens," said the DUI deputy.
Artan Grubu said that he expects reason to prevail among the new opposition, the party VMRO DPMNE, whose deputies, as he said, are now "sitting in an office in the Assembly and socializing with themselves."
Deputies of VMRO DPMNE, including the chairman of the constitutive session Trajko Veljanovski and the leader of that party Nikola Gruevski, occupied the offices intended for the president of the parliament this morning. That party contests the election of Jaferiji, whose election was recognized by the USA, the EU and NATO.
Jaferi is trying to take power in the Assembly, VMRO DPMNE is blocking the cabinet
The newly banned Speaker of the Assembly of Macedonia, Talat Džaferi, requested earlier today in writing from the Secretary General of the Parliament that the parliamentary administration enable the legislative body to start functioning again under the leadership of the new President.
At the same time as Džaferi is trying to take power in the Assembly, as reported by some media, MPs of VMRO DPMNE, who dispute the election of DUI deputy Talat Džaferi, who was appointed by the parliamentary majority, gathered in the office of the Speaker of the Assembly, together with the chairman of the constituent session, Trajko Veljanovski.
VMRO DPMNE MP Antonio Milososki said on his Facebook profile that Macedonia "does not need an illegal president of the Sobranja, an illegal government and the creation of parallel institutions, which can cause harmful and irreparable consequences".
The high functionary of VMRO DPMNE also published a photo of all the deputies of that party in the cabinet of the President of the Assembly.
MP and senior DUI official Artan Grubi stated that the information published by some media outlets is not correct, that VMRO DPMNE MPs are "using a human shield not to allow the new parliamentary speaker to enter their cabinet", Radio Free Europe reported in Macedonian.
Grubi pointed out that the members of the parliamentary majority, together with President Talat Xhaferi, perform their administrative duties.
"In order for the Assembly to return to its function, Mr. Dzaferi gave the necessary administrative instructions in a normal working atmosphere," said Grubi.
The office of the President of the Assembly is in the part of the parliament to which journalists do not have access.
The new Speaker of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi, came to work in the Parliament this morning, after yesterday, after the first official meeting in that position with the high-ranking official of the State Department, Hoyt Brian Ji, he said that he would try to "put the Assembly into normal operation" on Tuesday. .
The chairman of the constituent session of the Sobranja, Trajko Veljanovski, said on Saturday that Džaferi was not elected in a legitimate way and announced that he would schedule the continuation of the session "as soon as the damaged equipment works".
In the building of the Macedonian parliament, traces of blood and broken glass are still visible in the violence on Thursday, April 27, when numerous supporters of VMRO DPMNE stormed into Sobranje after the parliamentary majority consisting of SDSM and the Albanian parties DUI, Besa and Alliance for Albanians voted Dzaferi of the Speaker of the Parliament with the opposition of MPs of the single most numerous party VMRO DPMNE.
