"I will go to these elections and I will vote, and I know exactly who I will vote for, but it is no longer a game in which I want to participate. I have no more time in my life for that. I used to think that I could have an influence, but I don't think it really had any effect," actress Mirjana Karanović said in an interview with "Danas". "I'm not saying I'm sorry, I learned something, but now I'm completely disinterested in it. I would like someone who I will vote for to win."
She stated that "politicians have hurt you many times".
"Not me personally, but all of us. They humiliated us with their behavior after they came to power. I can't go through that again,” she said.
Mirjana Karanović also says that the problem of this country and the people who live in it is that "we are generally immature and there is a huge need for someone to save us".
"For someone to come who will be like a dad to us. That's why we get attached to people who promise us all kinds of things, who have power...", she said and added that it was like that with Milosevic because everyone believed in that story that he was the only person who could protect us.
“That was a blatant lie. A similar thing is happening now: an emotional connection with the leader. Politicians should not establish emotional connections with people. There are too many emotions, too much faith that one man can act like a messiah, a god... to save us. I don't believe in that. To me, this government looks more like a piece by Nušić", said Mirjana Karanović.
