Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said he was flattered that US officials thought Moscow was meddling in US elections, but that the accusations were nonsense and not supported by facts.
"Of course he's flattered by this kind of attention that a regional power gets, as US President Barack Obama once called us. Now everyone in the US is talking about Russia leading the US presidential elections," Lavrov said on CNN's Christian Amanpour show.
Lavrov stressed that "there is no fact, no evidence" for this.
Last Sunday, the US accused Russia of being behind a series of email hacks, including the Democratic National Committee.
