British Prime Minister Theresa May said today, after the announced no-confidence vote within her Conservative Party, that she will fight "with all her might" to prevent it from passing and called on her colleagues to support her.
An official of the British ruling Conservative Party announced that today there will be a vote of no confidence in the leaders of the party, as the required 48 letters from the party's deputies where requested have been collected.
In a brief statement outside Downing Street, May said that a change in the country's leader at this time would lead to Britain's departure from the EU being delayed or stopped and she vowed to fight to stay.
She said that her departure at the height of the crisis would "risk the future of the country and create uncertainty when the country can least afford it" and that she was "firmly determined to finish the job" of implementing Brexit.
Theresa May, who became prime minister shortly after Britain voted to leave the European Union in 2016, has been criticized within the party for her agreed Brexit plan.
Many MPs are increasingly angry with her because of the way she handled the Brezgit negotiations and because of the exit agreement she reached with the EU.
