The main suspect in the investigation into the vehicle found in Paris with several gas canisters, who planned the bombing, has sworn allegiance to the jihadists of the Islamic State, sources close to the investigation learned today.
The suspect is 19 years old and was arrested with two accomplices on Thursday evening. She is the daughter of the owner of the car that was found parked on the Seine opposite Notre Dame on Sunday, with its lights on and no license plates.
There were six gas bottles in the trunk of the vehicle, and one was in the car itself. No device for possible detonation of these bottles was found in the car.
She was wounded during an arrest 25 kilometers south of Paris after attacking a police officer with a knife.
France is on high alert for terrorist threats after a series of extremist attacks over the past year and a half claimed by Islamic State.
