Several schools in the German city of Barunschweig, in Lower Saxony, canceled classes today after they received e-mails threatening a terrorist attack during the night.
In the message, which was received by the schools, it was announced that the attack will take place in the morning at nine o'clock, reports Raša tudej.
"The time when the attacks were supposed to happen has now passed," police spokesman Joaquim Grande said, according to the N24 media.
In Barunschweig, seven schools received an e-mail threatening terrorist attacks.
Classes have been canceled in nine high schools, as well as in elementary schools in that city, local newspapers report.
The participants were returned to their homes before the start of classes, and the police assess that the evacuation procedures were successful.
Police are currently trying to determine who sent the e-mails.
