The Turkish authorities arrested 109 migrants as well as three smugglers in Izmir in the west as they prepared to leave the country, the DHA agency reported today.
The Turkish agency did not specify when the arrest took place or what nationality the migrants were.
It was only stated that one of the smugglers was Palestinian.
Turkey, which has taken in around 3,5 million Syrian refugees, is also a transit country for those fleeing conflict in the Middle East and seeking to reach Europe.
Many migrants go to neighboring Greece via Turkey.
Turkish authorities said more than 500 migrants were arrested from December 21 to 28 because they did not have the proper documents.
