Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin (53) was injured at the end of last year in a shooting range during the filming of a clip during which he shoots with a pistol with two hands. Rogozin lowered his gun and inadvertently pulled the trigger, wounding himself in the calf. The bullet just passed through and did not seriously damage the muscles. That version was confirmed by "Gazeti.ru" people from Rogozin's circle, so the claim of his spokesman that the high-ranking Russian politician was injured while playing handball was denied.
Because of that injury, Rogozin could not attend the government sessions on December 24 and 28, and he was not even at the New Year's reception in the Kremlin on December 26.
It is interesting that Rogozin posted a clip about shooting with a gun on his Twitter account, and after a few days information leaked that he was injured. Russian social media users immediately reacted, recalling his statement "we will not shoot ourselves in the foot" bearing in mind that Russia does not intend to stop selling RD-180 rocket engines to the Americans regardless of Washington imposing sanctions on Russia.
Rogozin is now in full working shape and spent the first working days of January in Serbia.
Rogozin's injury caused a lot of attention in Russia not only because he is the deputy prime minister in charge of the military-industrial complex, but also because he is considered a connoisseur of weapons, has a collection, and is also the head of the Federation of Riflemen of Russia. He is engaged in hunting, and he also enjoys playing handball and basketball.
