French President Francois Hollande and British Prime Minister David Cameron agreed today to "intensify cooperation" in the fight against Islamic State jihadists, Hollande's office announced.
In a telephone conversation, Hollande congratulated Cameron on winning the recent vote in the British Parliament when it was voted that Great Britain should begin bombing IS targets in Syria, according to the statement, reports AFP.
"The two leaders agreed to further intensify cooperation in the fight against Daesh (IS), both in Syria and in terms of information exchange," the Elysee Palace announced.
Britain, which has already carried out airstrikes against IS in Iraq, also attacked their targets in Syria for the first time on Thursday, just hours after the parliamentary vote, according to AFP.
