Two more charged in Belgium in connection with Paris attacks

In Belgium, two more people have been charged in connection with the attacks in Paris on November 13, the spokesman of the Belgian prosecutor's office said today.

This brings the number of people accused of the Paris attacks within the Belgian part of the investigation to eight.

"Two more suspects have been charged," prosecutor's spokesman Erik Van Der Sipt said, confirming information that the two people were taken into custody on Sunday.

According to the public Flemish television VRT, one of the accused is an acquaintance of the suicide bomber Bilal Hadfi, who blew himself up near the stadium in Paris.

A Belgian official, who did not want to be named, told The Associated Press that one person was detained at Brussels airport on Sunday while trying to travel to Morocco. The person has already tried to travel to Syria twice, the official said.

According to him, another person was detained during a police operation also on Sunday. The official did not provide any other details, according to the AP.
