French police today arrested a man believed to have helped hide the mastermind of the Paris attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, an official said.
The 25-year-old man is believed to have cooperated with Javad Bendaud, who is the only person preliminarily charged in the Paris attacks, said the official, who did not want to be named because of the ongoing investigation, according to the AP.
Before his arrest, Bendaud admitted to providing a hideout for Abaaoud, but denied knowing it was connected to the November 13 attacks. He stated that he did it as a "favor" for Abaaoud.
Abaud, his cousin and an unidentified man were killed in a police operation that raided Bendaud's apartment on November 18, AP reports.
No other details about the latest arrest were released.
