British Prime Minister David Cameron said today that the European Union must be more flexible if it wants Great Britain to be a member of the Union.
Cameron told the employers' organization that he wanted a looser and more "competitive" EU that would allow greater protection for countries that do not use the euro, including the UK.
Great Britain will organize a referendum on remaining in the EU by the end of 2017, and Cameron should tomorrow publish a list of demands in the negotiations in a letter to the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk.
Cameron said he wanted a "live and let live" Europe that would allow the UK to remain outside the tighter political and economic ties that bind eurozone members.
"We want to be in a common market, not a common country," Cameron said.
