Ukrainians paid their respects to the victims of the plane crash

Today, Ukrainians pay their respects to the victims of the Russian plane that crashed in Egypt with 224 passengers and crew members, which is an unprecedented act for Ukraine, which is in bad relations with Russia due to the conflict in the east of Ukraine, reported Agence France-Presse.

Several families with children laid flowers in front of the Russian embassy in Kyiv.

"Disaster has no nationality. This is our small sign of sympathy. Whatever happens, one should remain human," said a Ukrainian woman who laid a bouquet of flowers in front of the embassy.

Relations between Russia and Ukraine are at their lowest point since street protests in Kiev toppled pro-Russian Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in February 2014.

Those relations were further aggravated by Russia's annexation of the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea and the rebellion of pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine.
