Eight Swiss companies received permission to sell cheese in Russia, the Russian veterinary and phytosanitary service Roselkhoznadzor announced.
The decision was made after the results of the inspection that carried out inspections for the previous eight months, and the companies will be able to export meat to Russia, reports B92.
The operations of a total of 13 Swiss companies were reviewed. In the next month, the veterinary services of the two countries should make a decision for the remaining five companies as to whether they can deliver their products to the Russian market.
Last year, Moscow introduced a one-year ban on the import of agricultural products, food and raw materials from Western countries, and Switzerland partially joined the sanctions imposed on Russia by the European Union (EU).
On the anniversary of the introduction of counter-sanctions against Western countries, the destruction of food products, the import of which is prohibited, began in Russia.
