The British government is considering the possibility of accepting 15.000 Syrian refugees and hopes to receive support for airstrikes against the Islamic State next month, according to the "Sunday Times".
Prime Minister David Cameron is under international and domestic pressure to respond to the refugee crisis, reports AFP.
Cameron now intends to expand the program for relocation and receive about 15.000 refugees as well as launch a military operation against people smugglers, according to the newspaper.
He also hopes to convince members of the opposition Labor Party to support airstrikes in Syria, according to AFP.
