Right-wing parties in the European Parliament reached an agreement on the formation of a new group under the leadership of the French National Front.
Marine Le Pen's National Front, the Dutch Party for Freedom of Geert Wilders, the Austrian Freedom Party, the Italian Northern League and the Belgian Flemish Interest party will gain more influence in the parliament of the EU member states by unification.
Most of these parties achieved success in last year's elections for the European Parliament, but so far they have not managed to form a unified group, which will now provide them with more staff, rights of initiative and access to funds.
