The head of Russian oil giant Rosneft earns at least 15-20 million rubles (260.000-350.000 euros) a month, the company said today, revealing Igor Sechin's base salary after Russian President Vladimir Putin encouraged greater transparency.
The Rosneft document also states that the company's executive directors receive compensation for serving on the board of directors and dealing with information classified as state secrets.
Rosneft declined to disclose the exact salary of Sechin, who is a close associate of Putin and took over running the company in 2012 after ending his term in government as vice president.
Last month, Putin called on the CEOs of Russia's state-owned companies to report their income.
