Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann says that official Vienna's lawsuit against the EU's decision regarding the approval of the British nuclear plant "Hinley Point C" is ready.
"The lawsuit is finished and in a couple of weeks we will submit it to the European Court. We are filing a lawsuit against the decision of the European Commission that approved Great Britain to finance the expensive construction of a nuclear power plant with state funds," Fayman explained to the Viennese daily "Estereich".
He believes that the lawsuit is an important signal sent to all of Europe with the message that alternative energy sources should be encouraged with subsidies.
"We want to stop David Cameron's nuclear plans," Fayman added. Regarding possible reactions from London, the chancellor says that they are possible.
"It is possible that David Cameron, if he is even re-elected next week, will create a problem in some way. However, we Austrians are known for having a clear position on nuclear energy and that we have the strength to fight against it," he stressed. is Fayman.
According to him, the Austrians "for a long time were the Gauls of Europe, who alone led the fight against nuclear energy, and soon half of the 28 member countries will be without this source of energy."
"This means that we have achieved a partial victory in the fight against nuclear energy, and against incorrigible cynics like Cameron, who give speeches in favor of nuclear power plants, we will now act with a lawsuit," said Fajman.
