The leader of the British opposition Labor Party, Ed Miliband, is the favorite to become the prime minister in the British bookmakers in the parliamentary elections scheduled for May 7.
Miliband overtook the current Prime Minister and Conservative leader, David Cameron, this Sunday, but according to the bookmakers, the Conservatives will win more MPs than Labour.
The Labor leader has odds of 8 in 15 to become the new prime minister on August 1, meaning he has a 65 percent chance of doing so.
Cameron has odds of 11 to 8, giving him a 42 percent chance of remaining prime minister 42 percent.
Paradoxically, the Conservative Party is the favorite in the elections with the largest number of parliamentary mandates, but without an absolute majority of 326 seats in the Lower House of Parliament.
Miliband is the favorite to become prime minister because many small left-wing parties, such as the Scottish National Party (SNP), have indicated they are ready to support him.
