Irish authorities have launched an investigation after pilots spotted unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in the Irish sky, writes the British newspaper "The Guardian".
On November 9, a British Airways pilot called air traffic control in Shannon and reported that objects were moving next to the plane.
She also asked if there were any military exercises taking place in the west of Ireland.
"It was moving extremely fast. It came from the left and then turned quickly to the north. It was brightly lit and quickly disappeared," she said, according to "The Guardian".
According to the recording of the conversation transmitted by the website Airlive, the pilot was told that no military exercises are held in that area.
"Primary and secondary radar showing nothing," said flight control.
The pilot said that the plane she was piloting was not in danger of colliding with objects, but that she wondered "what it could be".
"The Guardian" writes that other planes in the area reported the same thing.
The Virgin Airlines pilot who was flying the plane on the Orlando-Manchester flight described the situation as "a meteor or some other object making some sort of re-entry," adding that multiple objects were following the same path and that everything was brightly lit.
A spokesman for the Irish aviation authorities told the "Irish Times" that they would investigate the incident and make a report.
