Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevičs announced on Twitter that he is gay.
"I am proud to announce that I am gay... Good luck to everyone," wrote Latvia's foreign minister.

Rinkevičs thus became the first member of the government of a Baltic country to publicly announce that he is homosexual.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, where gay marriage is not legalized, confirmed that the minister's tweet was authentic.
