The Russian oil company Rosneft and a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Arkady Rotenberg, sued the European Union (EU) at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg due to the imposed sanctions. On the court's website, it is stated that Rotenberg filed two lawsuits with the European Court of Justice, and Rosneft filed one, reports Capital.ba. In accordance with the procedure, the allegations from the lawsuits will not be published for the next two months. The lawsuits were filed after the EU introduced several packages of economic sanctions against Russia. The latest measures cover Russian energy, financial and defense companies, including Rosneft and Kalashnikov. The European bloc has frozen funds and imposed a travel ban on several high-ranking Russian officials and Putin's close associates.
