Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has warned that the war in eastern Ukraine threatens to develop into a "frozen conflict".
He expressed his belief that Crimea will eventually become part of Ukraine again.
"Crimea is a part of Ukraine, was and will be forever. The sovereignty of Ukraine should not be questioned," Yushchenko pointed out.
At the same time, he expressed his disappointment that "certain European leaders are currently taking the position that new sanctions against Russia are not appropriate.
"I am especially disappointed with our neighbors, but also with Austria," Yushchenko said.
According to the former Ukrainian president, too many politicians think about how to please Russian President Vladimir Putin by asking "at what cost".
