The European Union published in its Official Gazette the decision of the EU Council from July 24 and a list with the names of 15 new persons and 18 companies and organizations that are subject to sanctions.
The list includes the director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia, Alexander Bortnikov, the director of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Mikhail Fradkov, and the head of the Russian Republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, Itar-tas reported.
The list includes the President of the Security Council and his deputy Nikolay Patrushev and Rashid Nurgaliev, member of that council Boris Gryzlov, head of the FSB Sergej Beseda, deputy of the Duma (lower house of parliament) Mikhail Dzhogtyarev, governor of the Krasnodar Province Alexander Tkachev.
Also on the list are the head of the Ministry of Defense of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) Pavel Gubaryov and his wife Ekaterina, representative of the DNR forces command Fyodor Berezin, president of the "Republic of Novorussia" Valery Kaurov, military commanders of the insurgents in eastern Ukraine Sergej Zdryluk and Alexander Anyufeev.
Among the legal entities there are nine companies and nine state and social organizations, including the administrations of the self-proclaimed DRN and the Luhansk People's Republic, the "Federal State of Novorossiya", the International Union of Social Associations "Great Don Army", the patriotic organization "Sobolj", the fighting structures of the insurgents "Luhansk guard", "Army of the Southeast", "People's Uprising of Donbass", battalion "East".
The list of companies includes nine Crimean structures, state enterprises, "Kerchenska plovidba", "Sevastopol sea trade port", "Kerchenska sea trade port", "Universal-Avia", resort "Nižnjaya Oreanda", "Azov production of alcoholic beverages", National production-agricultural combine "Masandra", National Institute of Vine and Wine "Magarač", Champagne Factory "Nova sveltst".
Now there are a total of 87 individuals and 20 legal entities on the "black list" of the EU, the Russian agency reminds.
All of them are banned from entering the EU until November of this year, and their funds are subject to freezing if they are found in European banks, while European companies are prohibited from doing business with legal entities from the list.
Kremlin: EU risks ending cooperation with new sanctions
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia announced that the EU risks ending cooperation in security matters with additional sanctions.
"The list of additional sanctions is direct evidence that the EU states are setting a course towards the complete abolition of cooperation in the fields of international and regional security," the announcement added.
"We are convinced that this decision will be greeted with enthusiasm by international terrorists," the Ministry states.
