An American surveillance drone was intercepted today over the Crimea region in Ukraine, the Russian military and the arms export company "Rostek" announced.
"The unmanned aircraft was at an altitude of about 4.000 meters and was not visible from the ground," Rostek said, adding that "the drone, almost intact, fell into the hands of the defense forces."
"Rostek" added in the statement that it produced the equipment used to bring down the aircraft, but did not specify who operated the equipment.
The company also announced on its website that the drone, whose picture it also posted, belonged to the 66th American Reconnaissance Brigade, stationed in Bavaria.
