Soko, who was recently found by the inhabitants of a Turkish village, was acquitted of the charge of helping Israeli spies.
Turkey's Dogan news agency reported yesterday that residents of a village in central Turkey found the falcon this week and handed it over to local authorities after reading "24311 Tel Avivunia Israel" on the bird's leg ring.
Ornithologists often use these tags to track bird migration. Turkish authorities said they released the falcon yesterday after an X-ray at a veterinary hospital showed that apart from the ring "there was no other device" attached to the bird.
Along with the announcement of the "release from prosecution", the Dogan Agency also published a photo of an X-ray taken by the hospital staff under the name "Israeli spy".
