Annual inflation in June in the Eurozone remained unchanged compared to last month, 2,4 percent, as announced today in the first estimate by the European statistics agency Eurostat.
For the 19th consecutive month, inflation has exceeded the two percent threshold set by the European Central Bank, which is responsible for monitoring price stability.
Inflation decreased in several eurozone countries in June.
In Belgium, it continues to fall and is 2,26 percent compared to 2,81 percent in May.
In Spain, the pace of inflation also slowed down in June for the second month in a row, in May inflation was 1,9 percent, and in June it was estimated at 1,8 percent.
Eurostat published the first estimate less than a week before the meeting of the European Central Bank on July 5.
Some analysts predict that the bank will lower its reference interest rate, which is currently one percent.
