The Communist Party of Russia condemned today the extradition of former Bosnian Serb military leader Ratko Mladić to The Hague, stating that the Serbian "hero" was handed over to the "Gestapo" of the Hague Tribunal. Mladić is a "legendary hero of resistance to the intervention of the Westerners and their vassals in the Balkans", according to the leader of the Russian Communists, Gennady Zyuganov also states that "The Hague Tribunal is a modern Gestapo whose victims are dozens of Serbian patriots." "General Mladić is a true hero not only of the Serbian people but also of all the Slavic peoples. He was one of the first to stand up against NATO's global intervention. He is precisely because of this, and not because of fabricated war crimes, he was taken before a completely illegal tribunal in The Hague," stated Zyuganov, and the party conveyed it in a statement. Belgrade justifies this "shameful" decision with the perspective of joining the European Union, but, as Zyuganov adds, "it is completely clear that Serbia, which has long been the target of hostility from Westerners because of its Slavic and Orthodox roots, has little chance of entering the EU." Given Ratko Mladić's health condition, the predictable outcome of the process will be "the judicial killing of another victim of the Euro-Atlantic inquisition". Zjuganov believes. The former commander of the Republika Srpska Army, Ratko Mladić, was arrested on May 26 in Lazarevo near Zrenjanin, after 16 years of hiding. Tomorrow, Mladić will be brought before a judge at the Hague Tribunal for the first time to plead guilty to charges of genocide. and crimes against humanity against non-Serbs in BiH, 1992-95.
