Nun Maria Jesus Galan (54) was expelled from the convent in Toledo, Spain. It bothered them because, for their taste, she became too attached to Facebook, and many claim that the older sisters were not happy that she had so many friends on that social network.
In addition, they were not happy that Marija was too interested in new technologies. A group of nuns played a decisive role in her expulsion, according to some Spanish media, and Maria sensed the same. Those sisters in the convent were in charge of collecting money for poor families.
She also announced on her Facebook profile that she is no longer in the Dominican monastery.
"Envy turned my life into hell, the head sister and the others had their say. I was dismissed by the services without any particular explanation," it was written on her Facebook profile two days after she was told she could no longer be a nun.
She also wrote that she does not feel bitter about everything, but that she is ready to start a new life. She was also supported by her friends on Facebook, of whom there are as many as 285.
"I dream of finally seeing London and New York," she confided to her virtual friends. After leaving the monastery, Marjia removed from her Facebook profile a photo in which she is in religious clothes, and she placed the face of a crying young woman as the main image.
Unemployed, now ex, sister is looking for a job. He hopes to start working as an accountant soon.
"I know that now is not a favorable time, but I hope that I will still get a job," says Marija.
The former nun points out that she is completely calm and does not feel guilty about her decisions, writes Notisias de Navara, reported by the Croatian portal 24sata.
