Four German mountaineers died in an avalanche in the Swiss Alps, the local police announced today.
The accident happened in the canton of Vale on Friday and the bodies of the mountaineers were found yesterday, the police added.
The climbers, who were dead when rescuers arrived, were equipped with detectors to detect avalanche victims.
