The British government will today try again to reach a Brexit deal with the opposition Labor Party, amid growing discontent among the ruling Conservatives over a possible compromise.
Conservative and Labor MPs will meet today to see if they can reach a deal. During the talks so far, there has been no significant progress.
Almost three years after the British people voted to leave the EU in a referendum, the date and terms of Brexit are not known because the parliament has repeatedly rejected the withdrawal agreement that Prime Minister Theresa May reached with Brussels.
That forced her to turn to Labor for help, which in turn angered conservative Brexiteers who are calling for the prime minister's resignation.
The head of the committee that governs the Conservative Party is due to meet with May today and ask her to define the timing of her departure from Downing Street.
