The fact that US President Donald Trump did not congratulate Putin on his election victory is not a hostile step, says Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"It should not be seen as a hostile step. Putin remains open to normalizing relations with American partners where there is interest and where it is important. The president received many congratulations from foreign leaders. for other reasons," Peskov said.
"Let it sleep," says an old saying, Peskov added, as reported by the Tass agency.
The White House announced on Monday that the results of the elections in Russia were not a surprise and that no congratulatory call was planned, Tanjug reminds.
Vladimir Putin convincingly won the presidential elections held on Sunday.
He will be the head of Russia for another six years, as more than 50 million voters - almost 77 percent - have entrusted him with the confidence for the new mandate.
