The Bulgarian prosecutor's office has launched an investigation for the first time into the preparation of a homemade bomb attack, which is suspected of being carried out by a high school student who was recruited by the Islamic State (IS) over the Internet.
"Several homemade explosive devices were found in his house," including the type of bomb used in some attacks in the US, state prosecutor Ivan Gečev said.
He said that it was a "classic case of radicalization of minors via the Internet".
An ID flag was also found in the suspect's home.
He is a good student of the gymnasium in Plovdiv, whom the prosecutor said was a "very intelligent child".
It was not announced what was supposed to be the target of the allegedly prepared attack.
