Spanish police announced today that they freed eight women held captive in a house in Marbella, in the south, and arrested 21 suspected members of a gang that sexually exploited them.
The police added that the women were locked in the basement of the house where they were forced into prostitution.
Some of them were recruited into prostitution and others were told they would work in massage parlors in Marbella.
The police assume that those arrested are members of a Portuguese gang that also sells drugs.
