British Prime Minister and Conservative leader Boris Johnson and Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn clashed over Brexit in the final televised debate ahead of Thursday's 12 December election.
During a live BBC debate on Friday night, Corbyn said Labor would end Brexit by agreeing a new deal that would be put back to the public for a referendum, with the option to remain in the EU .
Johnson said he had brokered a "wonderful deal" and would use it to take the UK out of the EU on January 31.
Other topics they discussed included the National Health Service (NHS), security and Northern Ireland.
The audience's assessment after the debate was that Johnson was more convincing.
Boris Johnson remains on top of the polls, with around a ten percentage point lead for a snap election on December 12, called to break the country out of the political deadlock that followed the 2016 Brexit referendum.
Yet he remains a leader who divides a country still divided over Brexit.
Against him, Corbyn continues a very left-wing campaign, promising nationalizations and investment in public services, to reverse a decade of austerity under the Conservatives.
Yesterday, Corbyn presented a confidential government document which, according to him, proves that the prime minister is hiding from the British people the true economic implications of the agreement on leaving the EU.
The report proves that there will be "harmful" customs controls between Northern Ireland and Great Britain after Brexit, contrary to what Boris Johnson claims.
Johnson claims that there will be no border between the two territories divided by the Irish Sea.
Johnson dismissed Corbyn's claims as "absurd" and said the agreement he reached did not include controls on goods.
For Johnson, implementing Brexit is at the heart of his campaign.
If he wins, he will submit the agreement to Parliament for a vote so that Britain can leave the EU on January 31, the latest deadline after three delays.
Corbyn, who has been heavily criticized for his indecision about Brexit, has promised to negotiate a new agreement with Brussels and submit it for approval in a referendum.
