Russian politician Yuri Luzhkov, former mayor of Moscow, has died, writes b92.
Luzhkov was also one of the founders of the ruling party in Russia, United Russia.
He was the mayor of Moscow from 1992 to 2010.
He died at the age of 83 in Europe, an unnamed source from the Russian government revealed, without specifying a single detail.
"REN-TV" television reported that Luzhkov died in a hospital in Munich, where he was undergoing heart surgery.
Luzhkov was born on September 21, 1936 in Moscow. He graduated from the Russian State University of Oil and Gas in 1958, and later specialized in mechanical engineering.
