The Kremlin announced today that it will systematically measure the temperature of participants in meetings and gatherings attended by President Vladimir Putin as a preventive measure in the fight against the spread of the new virus from China.
"It's a precautionary measure," said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, as journalists had their temperatures taken before an official event today.
Peskov said that this measure will apply to all participants of events where Putin (67) is present.
The Ria Novosti agency reported earlier today that the temperature of journalists covering events in the Kremlin was taken today.
Two cases of viral pneumonia have been registered in Russia. Since the beginning of the new coronavirus epidemic in China, Russia has taken a number of measures, one of which is the closure of the 4.250-kilometer land border with China.
The new measure in the Kremlin is not surprising. Last year, Putin brought his mug to the dinner of the Group of 20 most industrially developed countries and developing countries - G20 in Japan, which caused numerous questions from users of social networks.
