A fight broke out in the Turkish parliament today between government and opposition MPs during a tense debate on Turkey's military involvement in northwestern Syria.
Videos showed dozens of lawmakers from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's party and the main opposition party pushing and punching each other as others tried to stop the fight.
Fights are a frequent occurrence in the Turkish parliament.
Today's conflict began during a speech by Engin Ozkoc, a member of the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), who earlier at a press conference called Erdogan "dishonorable, incomprehensible, petty and traitorous."
He accused Erdogan of sending Turkish children to war while his own offspring allegedly avoided years of military service.
During a speech to members of his party, Erdogan earlier accused the opposition of being "dishonorable and treacherous" for questioning Turkey's military involvement in the northwestern Syrian province of Idlib.
Tensions are rising after the deaths of more than 50 Turkish soldiers in Idlib over the past month, including 33 who were killed in Thursday's attack.
Turkey has sent thousands of troops to Syria to help prevent a Russian offensive by the Syrian government to retake Idlib province and to support Syrian opposition fighters.
