Prince Albert II has tested positive for the coronavirus, the Palace of Monaco announced.
They added that his health condition is not worrisome.
The AP agency states that Prince Albert (62) is the first head of state to publicly say that he is infected with the virus.
The palace said Albert is being treated at Princess Grace Hospital, named after his mother, American actress Grace Kelly.
In a written statement, Prince Albert appealed to the residents of his principality to respect the adopted measures.
